During classes, students use a ballet barre to balance as they flex isolated muscles with isometric contractions. Barre Bliss’ special form of barre fitness also incorporates elements of weight training, Pilates-mat work, and yoga to tone and sculpt bodies.

Barre Bliss

If Barre Bliss looks familiar, it’s because its unique take on barre workouts was featured on CBS Minnesota WCCO. In real life, as on television, instructors led by owner Mia Jenneman and co-owner Shad Holland introduce each student to their specially formulated version of barre fitness. As students grip a ballet barre for balance, they listen in as instructors lead them through concentrated, isometric contractions that target specific muscle groups with more focus than a bear chasing honey-flavored salmon. But at Barre Bliss, the ballet-style movements are periodically interrupted with floor sessions, where yoga, Pilates exercises, and strength-training exercises with dumbbells and medicine balls challenge students’ strength and stamina. The result is an intense session that activates tiny muscles as well as full muscle chains, resulting in a full-body workout that both sculpts frames and sheds pounds.

Barre Bliss

If Barre Bliss looks familiar, it’s because its unique take on barre workouts was featured on CBS Minnesota WCCO. In real life, as on television, instructors led by owner Mia Jenneman—recently featured in HERLIFE magazine— and co-owner Shad Holland introduce each student to a warm, inviting, and challenging experience in their specially formulated version of barre fitness. Drawing upon Mia's experience as a classically trained dancer and yoga practitioner and inspired by STOTT Pilates techniques, the custom workout system promotes torso control and a strong abdominal wall while imparting meditative form and position fundamentals. The result is an intense session that activates tiny muscles as well as full muscle chains, resulting in a full-body workout that both sculpts frames and sheds pounds. Designed with beginners in mind, the system also imparts knowledge of the graceful movements and fluid transitions of dances throughout the ages and caters to students of all shapes and sizes.
