The beer is great and the atmosphere is laid back. It is a nice place to have a brew and talk.

The beer was okay and the staff okay and the crowd okay, but it didn’t feel like a festive and happy place. The flight of four is pre-set, two were light, one amber, and one dark. The Havana appealed to me the most, and thankfully, it was part of the six pack to take home. The food truck (+++++)on the other hand, had a yummy looking menu, and a cordial cook who cook recite his menu deliciously.

About Barrel of Monks Brewing

Even during the darkness of the Middle Ages, the art of brewing still flourished at Trappist monasteries that dotted the landscape of what is now Belgium. Those monks are still at it today, as are many of their disciples; although the three brewers behind Barrel of Monks Brewing aren't actually men of the cloth, their dedication to crafting authentic Belgian beers rivals that of a true believer. They import European hops and malt into their Boca Raton brewery, turning these raw materials into the complex, aromatic beers available in their Abbey Series.

Not sure where to start? No worries. At Barrel of Monks's tasting room, Cicerone–trained servers use their expertise to recommend beers based on guests' likes and dislikes. But before you head over, check out a few of the brewery's favorites:

  • The Wizard: The brewery's take on a Belgian-style Wit or White Ale. This beer is light and easy to drink (5.5% ABV)

  • Single in the Sun: Although it's light in color and in alcohol content, this traditional patersbier features a hint of malt in each refreshing sip. (4.5% ABV)

  • Three Fates: You'll find notes of flowers, cloves, and other spices in this rich tripel made with yeast imported from Belgium. (9% ABV)

  • Abbey Terno: This abbey-style dubbel is brown in color but not heavy, a light drinkable beer with malty character and slightly spicy notes from the Belgian yeast strain. (6% ABV)
