Grapes naturally exist in three forms: solid, liquid, and raisin. Imbibe the fruit's most drinkable state with today's Groupon to the Barrel Tap, which takes place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, at the Moffett Field Museum in Mountain View. Choose between the following options:
- For $22, you get one general-admission ticket (a $45 value).
- For $32, you get one VIP ticket (a $70 value).
The Barrel Tap celebrates local vintners and specialty-food vendors with a one-day event that pairs bay-area wine lovers with palatable sips, swishes, and swirls. General-admission ticket holders can tipple selections from Californian winemakers, or cross international taste boundaries with imported glass fillers from Chile, Argentina, Spain, and Portugal; this year’s featured wineries include notable names such as De Novo Wines, Simple Math Cellars, and Casa Santos Lima, and all wines are available for purchase. Celebrated food vendors such as Bridge Brand Chocolate, Truffle Gateau, and Let's Cupcake complement wine with savory and sweet bites, and an unending supply of age-appropriate knock-knock jokes. In addition to libations and eats, VIP-ticket holders reap additional rewards such as a special-event wine tote, a gourmet lunch, and a Q&A session with a talking bottle of pinot noir.
Live music fills the space between sips throughout the afternoon, and guests can tour the exhibits at the Moffett Field Museum, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving historic Moffett Field, for free on the day of the event.
