Monique McDonald is an American opera singer who Opera News called an "...Opulent soprano with rapturous intensity." McDonald has played Donna Anna in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the New York City Opera, and has performed as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center and at the Library of Congress. In this performance at Baruch Performing Arts Center in New York, McDonald presents a program for Women's History Month that features selections by Handel, Barber, Verdi and Shumann, as well as Try Me, Good King -- a rarely-performed composition based on the last words of Anne Boleyn, Katherine of Aragon, and other powerful women throughout history.
