Carlos Basaldua shared his lifelong passion for photography with his son David through the simplest means possible: he went everywhere with a 35mm camera in his hand. David learned to think of photography as a way of life, and today, the father-and-son duo continues to snap shots as the co-owners and principal photographers of Basaldua Photography.

They shoot everything from intimate weddings to major corporate events, creating unique images to help their clients preserve memories in perpetuity. David very deliberately uses the phrase "creating images" instead of "capturing images." The latter, he feels, makes it seem as though the camera would capture the same image regardless of who pointed it or clicked the button. David sees his viewpoint as an integral part of every image he produces and one of the key things he offers to clients that other photographers can't imitate—unless they're his doubles from a parallel universe.
