Finding the perfect ice-cream flavor can be as frustrating as dating a snowman: by the time you're ready to commit, all the good ones have melted away. Find The One among 31 with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of ice-cream, cakes, and other frozen treats at Baskin Robbins in Mountain View.

Ever since Baskin Robbins began its dessert fashion show in 1953, more than 1,000 original flavors have delighted tongues, 31 at a time. With the ice creamery's iconic pink sampling spoons as a guide, customers can taste-test as many as they like, whether it's a classic flavor such as a scoop of rocky road in a cup ($2.39) or waffle cone ($3.18), or a seasonal offering such as Winter White Chocolate—white-chocolate ice cream loaded with chocolate-covered cherry pieces and a cherry ribbon. As the current flavor of the month, Winter Chocolate Marshmallow borrows the flavors of hot chocolate strewn with fluffy marshmallows and whipped cream.

To celebrate events of greater import, such as Thanksgiving or a baby's first doctoral thesis, choose one of Baskin Robbins's freeze-baked ice-cream cakes ($9.99+). Birthday cakes treat parties of four ($14.99) or 40 ($82.99) to whimsical frosting designs and creamy fillings, and roll cakes ($22.99) wrap darkly decadent devil's-food cake around a creamy cylinder of ice cream. Healthy hedonists, meanwhile, can indulge in the shop's BRight Choices—fat-free, dairy-free, and sugarless ice cream, sorbet, and frozen yogurt.

Baskin Robbins

Before teaming up in 1953, Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins were seasoned business owners with their own ice-cream shops. The words “unusual varieties” shone high above each shop, signaling their respective owners’ passion for anything but an ordinary dessert experience. When the two got together, it was natural that they’d adopt the theme of “31 flavors,” one for each day of the month. Since then, Baskin Robbins has introduced more than 1,000 flavors and opened shops with more than 5,800 franchise owners worldwide. Even their little pink tasting spoon has become a staple as a way to make flavor browsing an event by allowing guests to try specialties without paying cash or chicken-based trade for the privilege.

The servers were very friendly and helpful. My groupon was due to expire the next day and they treated me as though I were an all cash customer. I recommend them highly.
