About Baxter Barn
Baxter Barn has been around for longer than Washington has been a state. Built more than 130 years ago, the barn has earned a slot on the state's Heritage Barn Register—and, thanks to strategic rehabbing, it's still working today. Current owner Cory Huskinson and his family work hard every day to keep it a thriving, fun place to visit. Below, check out four of their main tasks.
Breed unspeakably cute mini-donkeys: Measuring a little more than two feet tall, these teddy bear–sized creatures can be bought as foals on the farm. (Visitors can also meet the adult breeding donkeys.)
Sell pumpkins each fall: They come in myriad sizes, and each one doubles as a mis-manufactured globe.
Lead educational programs: Designed for visitors, these sustainability-oriented tours roam across the farm's 2.5 acres, covering topics from stream conservation to building fungi gardens.
Host birthday parties: You know it's a good party when it's attended by mini-donkeys and pheasants.
