Q:

So is it ok to bring a 9year old with his 7 year old brother. I think my 9 year old would like this.

Stephanie N.  asked on  Mar 10, 2013

A:

Absolutely - our guidelines are up to age 8, but if you think your 9yo would enjoy, then welcome! Everyone does need to have admission still...thanks!

Q:

Hi, Since we will be doing other events that day too. I was wondering approximately how long does an average family with children ages 3 to 5 stay? Just an average and is there a place to eat there also? Thanks, Eileen M.

Eileen D.  asked on  Mar 10, 2013

A:

Most families stay about 2-3 hours, I'd say... And yes, we do have the Cafe Discovery with local, organic lunches & snacks for kids and grown-ups!

Q:

I have a family of five. If I purchased the max of 5 of these groupons (10 admissions total), would we be able to use for two separate visits for the family? In other words, can we use 2 groupons and a partial groupon for our first visit and the remaining two groupons and leftover 1 admissions from the half used groupon for a second visit?

Nichole P.  asked on  Mar 9, 2013

A:

Hi Nichole, Unfortunately we are unable to 'split' the groupon and save any unused admissions for future visits. You could redeem 2 groupons and buy one full-priced admission to visit with your family of 5 - $20 (2 groupons) + $11 (general admission) = $31, which is still quite a steal compared to $55 for 5 general admissions! Thanks!

Q:

I just printed out the voucher, and it says "Limit one $10 Discovery STORE credit".... I thought the $10 was for 2 admissions (like it says on the main page)... not store credit. Is this just a difference in wording? The $10 is good for 2 admissions, not just the store, right?

Cheryl W.  asked on  Mar 8, 2013

A:

The top of your voucher says what the voucher is good for - either 2 admissions or 2 admissions plus $10 store credit. In the fine print it clarifies that you can use only 1 store credit per day (we give you the store credit as a coupon card you turn in at the store). You can use multiple admission vouchers in one day.

Q:

Are there certain dates that we would not be able to use the tickets? Black out date?

Deborah P.  asked on  Mar 8, 2013

A:

There are no blackout dates before the expiration of the promotion (July 10, 2013). If you don't use it before then, the price you paid never expires, but can't be applied to our fundraiser on October 20-21, 2013. Thanks!

Are the tickets just for children or can it be a combination of kids and adutls?

Deborah P.  asked on  Mar 8, 2013

A:

Tickets are for any combo of adults and children. Please note that all children must be accompanied by adults, and all adults accompanied by children. Thanks!

Q:

So is this place more for smaller children? My nephew is 14, will he suffer?

Cindy L.  asked on  Mar 8, 2013

A:

The Museum is designed for 6 months to 8 years old, so your 14-year-old nephew probably won't enjoy himself...try Cal Academy or the Exploratorium if you're looking for destinations that appeal to teenagers!
