After students turn and shape molten glass, terrariums cool for a few days in an annealing oven before they’re ready to be filled with flora. Starter kits are available for an extra fee. Bay Area Glass Institute

The nonprofit Bay Area Glass Institute supports glass arts in its community by providing affordable studio space for artists, holding events and exhibits of local work, and teaching basic classes. Students create delicate glass art using cold techniques or acquire the basics of glass blowing as they rotate molten glass at 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit to make bowls, vases, and flowers. A store on the premises sells elegant and innovative work by the local glass artists affiliated with the institute.

They explained the process and worked with us in a very nice way. Love my new bowl. Look at glass items differently now.
Dale E. · December 31, 2016
So much fun! Not glass blowing, more like layering glass pieces to make art, but really enjoyed it and the glass art pieces we made. Unique experience, well organized, and clean shop.
