The career of the Fab Four doesn’t lend itself to simple tribute. Thankfully, Beatleshow is anything but simple. Armed with the costumes, music, and lyrics that cemented the Liverpool quartet in music history, the cast covers every era and chapter in the legends’ career. The show begins with the iconic mop tops and pressed gray suits, dipping into the band’s early repertoire with “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “She Loves You,” and a simple, sentimental take on “Yesterday.” As the 1960s transition into the psychedelic freedom of tie-dyed mustaches, so does the on-stage spectacle—neon military outfits march onstage as the quartet becomes Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. From there, John Lennon’s ringer slips into his famous white suit and long locks to play the serene “Imagine,” and Paul beckons the audience to join him in uncovering new lyrical complexities in “Hey Jude”’s famous refrain.
