Patients suffering from neuromuscular and motor-neuron diseases such as Lou Gehrig's disease, cancer, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease need not only medical care, but also attention to emotional needs to improve their quality of life. People living with chronic and terminal illness long for the sense of normalcy and human interaction associated with ordinary, day-to-day routines they can no longer perform for themselves. The Beauty Bus Foundation grooms and pampers homebound and terminally ill clients to empower those who might otherwise struggle to maintain hygiene habits with dignity.
The Beauty Bus helps individuals cope and heal through quality-of-life services that focus on aesthetic care and interaction for ill children and the family members and caregivers who watch over them. Along with a team of beauty-buddy liaisons and volunteer bus drivers, licensed hairdressers and aestheticians drive across the city, stopping for virtual salon sessions that help clients maintain superior grooming by cutting and styling their hair, applying makeup, and giving facials and manicures. The beauty sessions give individuals facing debilitating diseases and their hardworking caregivers a renewed sense of companionship and a break from their difficult daily routines.
Join G-Team and donate $10 to help give children with debilitating diseases a fresh new look. If G-Team members raise $500, Beauty Bus can provide two virtual salon parties for chronically or terminally ill children and their caregivers, pampering them and improving their confidence. Each additional $250 raised will go toward funding one virtual salon party.
Unlike traditional Groupon deals, G-Team campaigns typically don't offer you a "discount" or "savings." So "buyer" beware—when you click "Buy" to donate your time or money to a worthwhile G-Team cause, the only discount you may receive is 100% off free, priceless karma. Read more about G-Team.
