What You'll Get
Scientists agree that children are our future, which is why most children are sealed in time capsules with a flashlight and a stack of magazines. Give a child something he or she will really dig with today's Groupon to Beehive Art in Sudbury. Choose between the following options:
- For $99, you get a six-week art-exploration class for kids aged 5–14 (up to a $210 value).
- For $20, you get an Open Studio workshop for kids aged 5–14 (a $40 value).
At Beehive Art, students freely explore their artistic sides through a variety of media and exciting classes. Kids aged 5 and up can immerse themselves in six 1.5-hour classes held over a six-week period. The expanded art-exploration class for kids 5–9 allows them to learn basic techniques in a visually inspiring and creatively nurturing environment where everyone’s efforts will be lauded. Using various vehicles of vivacious expression, such as watercolors, collage, sewing, installations, book-making, 3-D sculpture, and accidents, creative padawans take art into their own hands. Beehive Art's step-by-step process-of-production teaching method builds knowledge of artistic techniques over the course of the class without obstructing the individual creative processes of the students. Advanced mini-pupils, ages 10–14, can meet their muse with the advanced art-exploration class that delves into denser materials, including color mixing, color science, and composition.
Kids may also first test their Andy Warhol impressions with the Open Studio workshop to learn the fundamentals and experience the basics before deciding if art is for them. Workshop explorations include painting, printing, collage making, mixed-media, and toy building subcontracted from Santa's elves.
