Q:

Can laser tightening be used on the face of Blacks or African Americans?

Bonnie W.  asked on  Sep 20, 2012

A:

Because IPL laser targets pigmentation, it is not recommended for darker skin.

Q:

What is the pain experienced during the IPL procedure? Is one put under any type of anesthesia, or is it necessary? Can one go to work the next day? How much redness or peeling is involved and how much down-time (number of days) is involved? Also, will you do a Groupon deal for Botox or Juvaderm in the future? Thanks!

LIsa D.  asked on  Sep 19, 2012

A:

No anesthesia is needed for the procedure. We do use a topical numbing creme to help with the discomfort some experience. It is like a hot pinch or snap feeling. There is no down time. Peeling and redness is different for each client depending on the skin type and condition of the skin. You may experience a mild redness to pinkness immediately following the procedure that will resolve within a few hours. We do not currently have any other offers through Groupon at this time, but do other specials at our location that can be reviewed on our website at www.bellamedical.biz.

Q:

I have puffiness under my eyes...will this procedure help me

Marilynn P.  asked on  Sep 18, 2012

A:

No, this particular procedure will not improve under eye puffiness. However, a dermal filler such as Juvederm Ultra will fill in the shallowness under the eye which improves the appearance.

Q:

How far apart are the 5 sessions scheduled? Does it take 5 treatments to get the total skin tightening results. How long do the results last?

charlotte F.  asked on  Sep 16, 2012

A:

Each session is scheduled every 4 weeks. You will begin to see some results as soon as the second treatment, but maximum results are seen after 5 treatments. The results are permanent, however, the natural aging process does continue, therefore new pigmenations can appear over time.

Q:

How do I know if I need my skin tightened with laser or if botox or jevederm would be better options? Also, if botox or jevederm are better options, will you do that instead of the laser if I purchase this groupon?

denise h.  asked on  Sep 16, 2012

A:

Botox prevents wrinkles in motion. Juvederm is a dermal filler that is used to increase volume in the lines/creases along the nose to mouth, as well as the smile lines. The IPL treatments are used for sun damaged skin, pigmentation, Rosacea and helps firm the fine lines. The Groupon is good for IPL only.
