Bella Vino Bar & Tapas
When you first walk up the brick staircase to the two-story residence that houses Bella Vino Bar & Tapas, you could be forgiven for thinking you've accidentally stumbled into somebody's home. And once inside, the plush couches and cozy fireplace in a former living room don't do much to dispel the illusion. But it's all part of the charm. A reviewer from the Riverfront Times said the owners nailed the "warm and comfortable" vibe and added, "the place made me feel like I was on a weekend getaway at a bed and breakfast."
After settling in the intimate dining room, complete with hardwood floors and exposed brick walls, patrons split tapas or opt for heartier flatbreads or risottos. These include a cocoa-and-coffee-rubbed salmon with fontina grits, a seasonal risotto, and a house-cured duck-prosciutto flatbread that the Riverfront Times reviewer deemed "incredible."
Bella Vino is also a great place to relax with a glass of wine, and BuzzFeed even added it to its Best Wine Bar in Every State for When You Want to Get Classy Drunk list. It's especially nice when the patio opens up and guests can sip wine while watching passersby and lost Godzillas stroll down St. Charles's historical Main Street.
