The Bella Voce Camerata joins with guest early-music ensemble Rook to explore the three greatest German composers before Bach: Heinrich Schütz, Samuel Scheidt and Johann Hermann Schein. Rook features instruments such as the cornetto, a wooden precursor to the modern brass trumpet, and the sackbut, which preceded the modern trombone. With almost voice-like qualities, these instruments blend beautifully with the sound of the Camerata while lending depth and richness of tone. You'll be treated to a variety of works by the three featured "Sch" composers, plus a trio of German dance pieces by by Paul Peueri. Hear the voices and instruments blend seamlessly in this concert at St. Clement Parish.
