Commonly Asked Questions

Q:

Do I need to bring a guitar? Because I don't have one...

Melanie  asked on  Oct 7, 2012

A:

Hi Melanie, I do have a guitar you could use for the first lesson, however, there is no point to doing guitar lessons if you can't practice throughout the week. The practice between lessons is the most important part. Ideally you would practice at least 15-30 minutes a day. If you don't have one, and aren't sure if you want to buy one, you can rent one from Long and McQuade or Tom Lee until you are more ready to commit to a purchase. Alternately, asking your friends and family - put it out there on Facebook or something - whether anyone has a guitar they could lend you for a little while. You won't believe how many people tell me they have a guitar but they never play it :) I hope this helps.

Q:

Can this be used for bass guitar lessons?

Nicki G.  asked on  Oct 5, 2012

A:

The short answer is Yes. The longer answer is that I can only teach beginner bass lessons. After about four lessons I will happily refer you to someone capable of teaching all levels. Or, if you prefer, I can refer you right away, but the Groupon voucher will not be redeemable with them.
