What You'll Get
Steak is useful for exercising incisors, muffling trumpets, and reducing swelling from black eyes caused by trying to eat steak with one's eye. Put steak to its prototypical use with today's Groupon: for $30, you get $60 worth of fine dining at Benton’s Prime Steakhouse.
Benton's Prime Steakhouse, which is located on the 20th floor of the Westin Crown Center, presents diners with spectacular skyline views alongside the sight of succulent dishes. The menu is bursting with gourmet fare. Warm up taste buds with a flash-seared crab cake ($15) or a helping of seared French duck foie gras seeped in champagne vinaigrette and served with port-wine figs ($18). All of Benton’s steaks are aged a minimum of 18 days, at which point they reach legal voting age and elect themselves to the grill. True KC fans can show their appreciation by consuming a 16 oz. prime on-the-bone Kansas City strip ($32), or foster state pride with a 12 oz. lean Missouri grass-fed Bison striploin ($34). A 16 oz. sterling-silver chateaubriand is cooked for two and carved tableside ($64). All steaks are served with your choice of complimentary sauce, such as chateaubriand or morel mushroom. For dessert, behold a chocolate globe meltdown, in which an avalanche of tiramisu and peanut-butter ice cream cascades down a coffee-scented Joconde cake whose depleting ozone layer is sprinkled with peanut brittle ($9).
Round off your dining experience with a selection from Benton’s fine wine list, such as a glass of sparkling Italian brut ($8.50). Mixed drinks are available for every taste; the Dark 'n' Stormy cocktail, made with Myers dark rum and ginger beer ($7.49), stands in perfect contrast to the bright and sunny demeanor of the wait staff, who serve as your trusted guides through your dining adventure. Live jazz on Friday and Saturday nights and complimentary valet parking provide the perfect means to make the most of the weekend, without bicycling to the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History to steal Dizzy Gillespie's iconic bent trumpet and favorite pair of socks. Reservations are required and may be made online or by phone.
Benton's Prime Steakhouse is a Diner's Choice Winner for Best Ambiance on OpenTable with a four star average overall rating. It has a 4.5-star average rating on Yahoo! Local with many positive reviews on Zagat.
