What You'll Get
Long considered an East Bay must, Berkeley Ballet Theater's annual family production of Tchaikovsky's beloved holiday ballet The Nutcracker was recently called "more touching than San Francisco Ballet's performance," by The New York Times dance critic Alastair Macaulay. Children of all ages can join young Clara and Fritz on a magical journey as they battle mice, and delight in a dreamland of snowflakes and sweets. The lead roles of Clara, the Snow Queen and the Sugar Plum Fairy will be performed by dancers from the highest levels of Berkeley Ballet's acclaimed Pre-Professional Youth Company, many of whom have spent their summers training in schools affiliated with American Ballet Theater, San Francisco Ballet, Boston Ballet and more.
Running time consists of two 45-minute acts with a 20-minute intermission.
