What You'll Get
Though the "noble experiment" of Prohibition failed, other noble experiments, such as teaching horses how to shoot guns and giving suffrage to any horse that could shoot a gun, were huge successes. Celebrate the failure of the 18th Amendment with today's Groupon: for $49, you get a beer-brewing class for two at Bev Art Brewer & Winemaker Supply.
Bev Art Brewer & Winemaker Supply's savvy hops technicians elucidate the art of beer brewing through hands-on classes, coaching students to concoct their own 6-gallon batch of strange brew over the course of two sessions. The first session dives into a discussion of brewing techniques and ingredients, after which students are guided through a hands-on brewing demonstration in which their batches' foundations are laid. A lecture on evaluating quality brews enlightens palates on dissecting the beer's flavor, characteristics, and horoscope sign.
Between sessions, brews ferment in a temperature-controlled cellar for two to three weeks. Bottling techniques are discussed and demonstrated during the second session, as students corral their ales into 50 to 60 bottles to share with friends or to set afloat in the Pacific Ocean to share with dolphins.
Beer-brewing ingredient kits are not included in this deal but are available on-site ($45+).
