What You'll Get
Before block parties, neighbors could only lure each other out of their houses by hiding in the bushes and mimicking the call of the ice-cream truck. Engage in communal camaraderie sans trickery with today's Groupon: for $10, you get two admissions to Sip of Summer on Friday, August 26 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. (a $20 value) at the Beverly Arts Center.
Created by the Young Adult Board of the Beverly Arts Center, Sip of Summer sates the palates of those at least 21 years old with chilled brews from Goose Island Beer Company and sweet nectars sponsored by Avenue Flower Shop & Wine Bar. Each admission gives tasters up to five samples of the eve's finest vintages, from Goose Island brews such as Matilda and Fleur to Avenue Flower’s six provided wines. Cover band Railroad Gin keeps heads bobbing to steady rhythms as mouths snack on local vendors' savory cheese and chocolate goods and eyelids flicker in time with the hypnotic strobe effects of passing fireflies. The onsite cash bar provides additional drinks, such as a $3 Goose Island 312, to keep the celebration lively.

About Beverly Arts Center
Art. Education. Community. Non-Profit. These four words succinctly sum up the mission of Beverly Art Center, a cultural hub in the historic Beverly Hills, Morgan Park neighborhood. The heart of the member-supported center is the 400-seat Main Stage theater, which hosts plays, dance recitals, and concerts. But the venue is equally dedicated to education, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in ceramics and film classes at the School of the Arts or attend literary events with actual authors instead of just their dust jacket photos. A spacious art gallery hosts rotating exhibitions of contemporary works by both national and regional artists.
