Barre classes blast calories and tone leg muscles with use of a body bar or ballet barre. Pilates classes involve multiple props such as stretch weights, toning balls, and foam rollers. Since classes are capped at 11 students, students must preregister via the online schedule.

Caryn Connarton, owner of Beyond Fitness Pilates Studio, has earned certifications in nearly every fitness fad of the last decade. Though spinning strengthened her quads and aerobics bolstered her endurance, only Pilates delivered full-body results.
