Paddle with dignity with today's Groupon: for $55, you get a half-day rafting trip for one person (up to a $115 value for an adult, which includes the government river-use fee) on the South Fork of the American River from Beyond Limits Adventures in Lotus. Rafters must be 10 or older, and you must register for the trip in a group of two or more.
This half-day guided morning raft trip is one of the closest trips of its kind to Sacramento and features some of the wettest water on earth. During the three-hour journey, you'll roll through the American River's beautiful South Fork section and over frothy Class III rapids with just enough vim in them to playfully toss you about. The trip is equally excellent for families, first-time rafters, and seasoned rivermen in need of new fodder for their tall tales. This Groupon is valid for trips from May 15 through September 2, 2011 (Saturdays from June 25 until August 27 excluded). Trips depart daily, though availability can get tight on weekends. Lunch is not included, so be sure to pack a sandwich or lunch money with your sea legs.
