The Big Bass Brasserie started as a bakery in the small town of Bloomfield. Before long, its head chef and owner, Julia Englert, wanted to stretch the muscles she developed at the Culinary Institute of America and turned the bakery into a full restaurant, serving a mix of seafood, steaks, and smokehouse entrees in a casual atmosphere. She prepares everything from pork tenderloin in a cherry bourbon sauce to tilapia tacos stuffed with bean sauce and salsa.
