Mark Garber, a lifelong Lancaster County resident, started as a dairy farm worker before falling in love with craft beer two decades ago. His homebrewing hobby turned passion led to the launch of Lancaster Homebrew in 2009, which has steadily grown for 13 years. Mark takes pride in witnessing Lancaster's homebrewing community flourish, with many customers eventually opening their own breweries.

In the winter of 2018, the seeds of a brewery were planted. Through years of dedication and with the assistance of his childhood friend, Dean Kroesen, Mark's dream became reality when Big Dog Craft Brewing opened its doors in the winter of 2020. This endeavor marks the culmination of Mark's journey from farm life to homebrewing enthusiast to a thriving member of Lancaster's craft beer scene, where friends and family can gather to enjoy handcrafted beer, food, and fellowship.
