What You'll Get
Riding a stationary bike combines the safety of a fitness center with the thrill of mountain biking, just as riding a stationary goat combines the safety of a petting zoo with the thrill of encountering a pack of hungry wolves. Get your adrenaline pumping with today’s Groupon for a social-cycling package at Bike2theBeat (a $112 total value) in Newport Beach. The package includes:
- Four complimentary Rookie classes.
- Four all-levels classes (a $56 value).
- Four buddy passes that let a friend join you during the class of your choice (a $56 value).<p>
Bike2theBeat’s upbeat instructors lead exercisers on stationary spins held in a nightclub-style studio. Students can choose from more than 20 classes each week, including 60-minute Rookie sessions that acquaint beginners with adjustable-resistance bikes and advanced workouts that make muscles burn with satisfaction, like an insult uttered from the lips of a sarcastic fire swallower. As heart rates soar and lights dim, teachers spout pedaling cues and infuse the space with motivating tunes. By climbing invisible hills or racing the friends they’ve brought along, students chase away calories and tone muscles in the calves, quads, and glutes. Follow-up hot showers and complimentary towel service await to help relax sore muscles and wipe down imaginary helmets after class.

About Union Ryde
Anyone who has ever been kicked out of a nightclub for trying to ride in on their bike didn’t really do anything wrong, they just went to the wrong place. The instructors at Union Ryde are as versed in DJ'ing as they are in leading stationary-cycling classes, hosting their workouts within a mirrored studio that emanates a nightclub-style ambiance. Once students are comfortably situated atop their stationary velocipede of choice, they dim the can lights and raise the black lights to bring T-shirts, towels, and linen-clad ghosts to glowing fruition. Then they start spinning thumping tunes, swirling multicolored beams around the room and shouting out exercises and dance-like moves to create an intense, high-energy cycling routine. Routines vary according to each instructor's unique style, but they all deliver a calorie-burning cardiovascular workout. Guests have access to changing rooms, showers, and complimentary towels before and after every workout.
