Fabulous collection of items from around the world. Great place to find a reasonably priced, interesting present for most everyone on your list. New items being added constantly according to the season/holiday. Nice sales, regular emails about events and specials. Owner very personable and accommodating. It's been one of my favorite place in Roslindale Village for a long time.

What You'll Get

The term bric-a-brac can describe decorated tea cups, statuettes, small vases, and a variety of small gifts that can be stuffed into stockings on Christmas in July. Fill summertime socks with knickknacks with today’s Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of gifts, home décor, and more at Birch St. House & Garden, in Roslindale.

Birch St. House & Garden’s comfy, crowded confines are packed with fair-trade tchotchkes, whimsical housewares, and other quirky products. Gift a pair of Vance Kitira pear candles ($7 each) to a dinner-party hostess, or use a bottle opener ($13) and wine-bottle stopper ($16) to release, then retrap the powerful genie living inside your chardonnay. Handicraft hankerers can handle wood pens, crafted by a local 14-year-old artisan, and Haitian ornaments carved from recycled oil drums. After checkout, bundle shiny-new swag inside eco-friendly Envirosax reuseable shopping bags ($9.50) for easy transport back to your outer-space tree-house or underwater man-cave.

The Boston Globe mentioned Birch St. House & Garden, and seven Yelpers give the shop an average of 4.5 stars:

  • Great place to go for a gift or to treat yourself – Delia D., Yelp, 5/13/10
