About Birthright Recordings
In a film by Austin Muhs, a bespectacled elderly woman recounts her childhood in which she worked long hours picking weeds for 25 cents a day. This wistful story of a hardscrabble youth is the kind of material Austin set out to tell—dramatic, earnest, and entirely real. As owner of Birthright Recordings, he and his professional film crew create custom-made documentaries that preserve the stories and personal history of clients and their loved ones. After spending years not knowing his own family's rich past—one of his ancestors was a Declaration of Independence signatory—the passionate moviemaker decided to start a business designed to discover and preserve his clients' unique family histories. His film team can also supply subjects with professional makeup, lighting, and someone really good at yelling "action" at every shoot. Once finished, memorial videos can be e-mailed, shared online, and copied onto DVD.
