The Black Market caters to the most adventurous of eaters with a menu of burgers made from exotic meats and a market-style bargain-and-barter approach to paying. In addition to unusual meat selections such as ostrich, alpaca, and african lion, Black Market also makes patties from the rare and mystical cow. Dining parties can relax yearning stomachs with appetizers such as cream-cheese-stuffed jalapeño poppers or blackened steak bites served with warm pita bread and homemade garlic butter. The house specialty Mondo burger squashes hunger and origami napkin sculptures with a leaning tower of a half-pound each of bacon, ham, turkey, and melted cheese, with a pound of beef, three slices of grilled texas toast, and a pound of steak fries acting as an anchor. The Black Market's kitchen also slings out non-burger bites, such as a barbecue chicken pizza and slow-cooked ribs, best washed down with a bucket of beer or other libations from the full bar.

The Black Market’s distinctive dining experience relies on the in-house Market, a stock ticker that gives the market price on exotic meats through random deals all day. Wily diners can also try their hands at bargaining for off-menu pricing or knock-off Rolexes with The Black Market's friendly but cutthroat crew of servers. Contrary to its name, The Black Market’s exotic proteins are farm-raised and regulated by the FDA.

The Black Market

At The Black Market, the day's prices slither across a sprawling stock ticker on the wall. But the restaurant's hardwood floors aren't filled with traders, they're filled with diners hoping to catch a discount on a meal or a few drinks. Prices change in accordance with popularity, and the wait staff is trained to haggle if guests have an itch to barter. Families can sink teeth into signature barbecue-chicken sandwiches or burgers with specialty exotic meats, including kangaroo, alpaca, yak, and lion. The late-night crowd packs the floor during DJ sets, much like night traders at the stock exchange.
