The Ziplines were great! The guides were very good, made everyone feel safe and made sure we all had the time of our lifes!

Lots of lines; prefer trolleys on other zip lines and dual lines that allow for "racing"; being above the tree-line is a great experience.

What You'll Get

Ziplining is an exhilarating way to enjoy aerial views of nature without sucking on a helium tank until you get really big and drift away. Float above treetops with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $39 for a two-hour zipline tour for one (a $79 value)
  • $69 for a two-hour zipline tour for two (a $158 value)

After a truck takes groups up the mountain, each person dons a harness, rigs up cables, and trains on a practice line as instructors go over proper riding technique and safety. Following practice sessions, treetop canopies and rolling terrain come into view as adventurers soar across 1.5 miles of the Appalachian Mountains on 12 different ziplines. A guide stays in front and behind at all times to keep groups safe and prevent them from falling for a squirrel's shell game.

About Black Mountain Thunder Zipline

Deep within the Appalachian Mountains, the forest's leaves flutter as a blurry figure speeds by. But the creature high above the treetops isn't a bird, a plane, or a sports mascot recently released back into the wild. It's a person strapped into one of Black Mountain Thunder Zipline’s 11 ziplines, which take customers some 400 feet above the ground and at speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. Spread over 1.5 miles, the ziplines wind through canopies and down mountain slopes on trips that last roughly two hours. Expert guides tag along on every tour to ensure safety and instruct adventurers on equipment.
