Founded in the 1960's by a group of train enthusiasts, Black River & Western Railroad provides rail-freight services to local industries and operates family-oriented excursion trains and events in Hunterdon County, NJ. The Easter Bunny express steam locomotive train ride was amazing! We took our 3 year old son who had a great time. The Easter Bunny came through the cars with a basket of candy and took pictures. When we got to the Ringoes Train Station, there was an Easter Egg Hunt which the kids really enjoyed. You also have the opportunity to take more pictures with the Easter Bunny. The staff was very friendly and the train ride was very relaxing and enjoyable. We love the museum and gift shop at the Ringoes Station. The Steam Engine is also really awesome and makes the trip well worth it!

Really fun time for my boyfriend and I. The volunteers were really informative and shared a lot of history about the railroad. Definitely recommend for any age, it’s wonderfully scenic.
