To tuxedoed people, velvet ropes are ordinary white picket fences and champagne fountains are lawn sprinklers. Kick down the fence and drink from the sprinkler with today's Groupon to Blue Ginger Lounge & Grille. Choose between two options:

• For $15, you get $30 worth of French-Asian fusion fare and drinks for dinner.
• For $7, you get for $15 worth of French-Asian fusion fare and drinks for lunch.

Winner of a 2010 CAA Four Diamond Award, Blue Ginger Lounge & Grille puts forth dinner and lunch menus showcasing an eclectic array of inspired upscale dishes. Fulfill gastro-dreams with an appetizer such as the Fire and Ice, in which vegetarian sushi is generously dipped in tempura and supported with a zesty cast of pickled ginger and wasabi aioli ($12). Innovation becomes ingestible via the lounge's take on moule et frites, where fresh basil and chardonnay broth approach PEI mussels and demand inclusion into the bivalves' exclusive members-only playground ($12). The duck confit waltzes through kitchen doors after eight hours of slow-roasting group therapy with butternut squash and an orange-hoisin jus ($26), and the house made prawn-and-ginger ravioli wades and twirls, like an overstuffed ballerina, through a honey-cream sauce ($24). The lunchtime menu's offerings include the Blue Ginger burger, which quells midday hunger pangs with a hunk of teriyaki-glazed ground beef and lamb hoisting up an onslaught of aromatic blue cheese and crispy onions, served with sweet-potato fries ($14).

Customer Reviews

The food was delicious! The place itself is in desperate need of some decorating to create a more inviting atmosphere. I would suggest acquiring some art work/paintings right off the top. Highlighting local or even Canadian artists is always a great idea. Thanks, Sarah MacGowan alsarmac@hotmail.com
