A photographic memory is a blessing and a curse: you can remember everything, but none of it is open for interpretation. Share the burden every camera must carry with today's deal: for $69, you get a mini-portrait session, plus one 8”x12” print and two 5”x7” prints showcasing your favourite pose, from the bionic-eyed photographers at Blue Olive Photography (a $495 value). This Groupon is not valid toward wedding or event photography.
Blue Olive Photography's portraits capture life at its liveliest, with sassy images conveying the kinetic energy of its subjects. During the mini-portrait session, one of Blue Olive's dynamic duo of photographers—husband-and-wife team Reilly and Miranda—will snag the souls of up to five subjects through camera-based wizardry. The session is held on-location at a setting of your choice within Vancouver's city limits (a $50 travel charge will apply to on-location shoots anywhere in the lower mainland). Pal around with the fellow members of your four-man clogging team amid the greenery of Stanley Park, or flirt with your fiancée in front of the steel-framed passion that is the Dominion Building. Following the session, clients will visit Blue Olive Photography at its Railtown studio to review shots from the session, choosing their favourite image for an 8”x12” print and two 5”x7” prints.
With prints in hand, mirror-less clients will be able to remind themselves of what they look like, and other clients will later find satisfaction in having photographic evidence of what they looked like before that fourth arm grew in. Corral kin or close friends and discover the eye for detail and design that earned Blue Olive Photography the title of "Best Wedding Photographer" from Georgia Straight readers in 2009.
Blue Olive Photography
Named Vancouver's best wedding photographers in 2009, 2010, and 2011 by Georgia Straight readers and listed as one of the 25 most inspiring Canadian photographers in Weddingbells Magazine, Blue Olive Photography's married shutterbug team Reilly and Miranda Lievers has expertly framed families, couples, and kids for more than 9 years. In between publishing their work and presenting lectures and instruction to photography peers, the Lievers set up shoots at clients' homes or locations of their choice to capture each subject's individuality. They also assist their patrons throughout each step of the process by dispensing tips on clothing, pre-session preparation, and how to advance from bunny ears to elephant ears.
The Lievers then rendezvous with customers for post-shoot image-review meetings, where they can scrutinize each image and decide which shots suit Blue Olive's line of pictorial products, such as gallery wraps, custom-designed holiday cards, and gift books. In addition to a signature 8"x12" print, Blue Olive Photography grants half-price discounts for all returning patrons as well as séances to retrieve any camera-snatched souls.
