Do I need to buy/wear any specific riding apparel to take lessons? Do I need my own saddle? Are helmets provided? What breed of horses would I be riding?

Thank you for your question. We don’t recommend purchasing any additional apparel before you decide on what disciplines that you might like best. Generally, long pants (jeans, etc.), weather specific wraps and closed toed full shoes with heal is enough to begin. We will supply the saddles and all of the additional tack that you will use for your lessons. While you’re welcomed to bring your own approved riding helmet, Blue Point Stables will gladly furnish you with one of ours during your lessons. We have a variety of different horse breeds in our lesson programs. Some of the favorites that we use are Quarter Horses, Thoroughbreds, Spotted Saddle Horses, Mangalarga Marchadors and Ponies. Again, thanks for the question and we look forward to seeing you.
