As players of a self-officiating sport, golfers are trusted to record their own scores and never argue that their bogeys are noncanonical events from a rival’s dreams or a dark alternate reality. Keep your golf continuity coherent with today's Groupon to Bluff Creek Golf Course in Greenwood. Choose between the following options:

  • For $19, you get an 18-hole round of golf for two (up to a $38 value).
  • For $275, you get a course membership good through December 31 (up to a $550 value).

A public course open to golfers of all ability levels, Bluff Creek Golf Course spans 6,525 yards in an open, links-style arrangement sculpted into varied terrain. Rapid elevation changes create sweeping vistas, as seen at the men's first tee, which overlooks the fairway 50 feet below it, the dense woods nearby, and the footprints of flagsticks that switch places at night. Generous fairways and open terrain forgive most tee-shot transgressions, but some wayward white orbs fall into the course's heather grass or the merman-infested waters of Bluff Creek.

Golfers who purchase a membership can tee off through the end of December, taking time to master the course's sloped greens, where slick bentgrass leads misread putts astray like a sinister librarian. Choose from three different tees for an optimal challenge, and drop in the clubhouse overlooking the links to recapitulate each shot after your round.

Bluff Creek Golf Course

At Bluff Creek Golf Course, the club's eponymous creek chuckles quietly across 171 acres of relatively open emerald sweeps and 6,525 yards of fairways and greens. Though much of the course roams across flat terrain, certain holes feature sudden elevation changes, including the par 3 10th, where the green rests at the bottom of a 70-foot drop-off that visually obscures the target from golfers. Forgiving fairways, fast bent-grass greens, and thick heather grasses to ensnare poor shots create the feeling of a classic links-style course. Players must take confident swings to evade the water hazards formed by the creek and nine retention ponds, which come into play on the final eight holes and every screaming match with a catfish.

After rounds, a parade of players leads past startlingly colorful redbud trees to the hilltop clubhouse, which sits at one of the highest points in Johnson County. Frosty glasses sing together, the sound drifting off toward the distant Indianapolis skyline. Bluff Creek Golf Course also peddles a variety of clubs and apparel from other top brands in a pro shop, where guests can schedule lessons with a certified instructor to fix a recurring slice or tendency to yell their social-security number mid swing.

Customer Reviews

I finally redeemed my Groupon last week and have played Bluff Creek three times since. Though I can occasionally break 90, I am not a good golfer, but a primary goal was to walk an aerobically challenging course for the exercise. Walk from the blue or white tees, and you DO get a hilly and healthy workout. The course is decently kept for the price, the view a nice change of pace in flat Indiana, the clubhouse folks friendly, the difficulty adaptable, according from which tees you play. All in all, an excellent value!

The people there are great, the sandwiches (especially the tenderloin) are way above average, and the course is in great shape. Really enjoy playing there. Going to get a membership!!

Didn't look like much when we pulled in but we enjoyed it- especially liked the elevated tee and elevated green hole near the clubhouse.
