One of Benjamin Franklin’s last theories was that taking in a good view while eating aids both in digestion and in the ability to squeeze milk out of coal. Prove him half right with today's Groupon: for $20, you get $50 worth of northwestern-inspired cuisine and drinks at BluWater Bistro, valid at both the Leschi and Green Lake locations. BluWater Bistro distributes from a menu of hand-tossed pizzas, sandwiches, burgers, pastas, and fresh seafood in a cozy, waterfront setting. Sip a signature cocktail, such as the 206 Guava Kazi, locally distilled 206 vodka muddled with fresh limes and guava juice ($7.50), in between mighty bites of the namesake BluWater burger, a juicy patty dressed in smoked bacon, dijon mayo, and Tillamook cheese and served with waffle fries, soup, or a salad ($12.50). The Dungeness-crab-stuffed mahi-mahi, oven roasted and drizzled with a macadamia-nut beurre blanc and a mango-sweet-chili coulis, infiltrates insides with vast, oceanic deliciousness ($23.50). Dine alfresco on BluWater Bistro's patio, which boasts a breathtaking view of strangers' bald spots.

  • Appreciate the grinning hostess, who looks out for your friend who's always late. Admire the quick-witted server who knows when not to intrude, and the guy who logs miles keeping water glasses full. – Providence Cicero, Seattle Times
  • We both really enjoyed our meal and think this might be a new happy-hour hangout. – What’s Cookin’, Good Lookin’?

About BluWater Bistro

The chefs at BluWater Bistro elevate classic comfort food by working mainly with premium, largely local ingredients. Take, for instance, a BLT—reinterpreted with additions of Pacific Northwest king-salmon fillet and pesto mayo—or a burger ascending to gourmet status with layers of Tillamook cheddar spread over wagyu beef raised on pastures near the Snake River. BluWater Bistro's owners strive to match their chefs' quality and creativity by giving each waterfront location a refined yet cozy aesthetic, surrounding diners in large windows, fireplaces flanked by leather furniture, and flat-screen televisions that play more interesting shows when they sense lulls in conversation. The Green Lake establishment also extends to an outdoor patio. The kitchen staff continues sending out dishes from the full menu as late as 1 a.m. every night of the week and shows up early on the weekends to prepare brunch.
