Children's museums chronicle the rich history of childhood genius, from the chocolate toothbrush to the first draft of The Brothers Karamazov, penned by a five-year-old Dostoyevsky. Immerse yourself in the tradition of pint-sized innovation with today's Groupon: for $7, you get three passes (up to a $5 value/pass) to the Boca Raton Children's Museum in Boca Raton (up to a $15 total value).

The Boca Raton Children's Museum sparks kids' imaginations through a variety of interactive activities, exhibits, and special events. Each activity center equips children with the tools to tinker with the world using their own creativity in a free-play, imagination-driven environment. Travel back in time to dress in traditional Irish and African garb or grab groceries at Ricketts Corner Store, a kid-sized replica of Boca Raton's first grocery store. Young archaeologists can scrounge for ancient fossils in Dr. Dig's Back-Porch, and aspiring bankers can make millions gambling in the derivatives market. The museum campus is comprised of some of the oldest unaltered edifices in the city, some nearly a century old, and aims to preserve these buildings in a constructive, educational manner. With an expansion underway, kids' freedom to fiddle with their surroundings continues to grow. The museum is currently open Tuesday–Saturday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., and infants are admitted for free.

Boca Raton Children's Museum

Boca Raton Children's Museum, located inside a quaint home built by hand around 1913, unfurls an array of exhibits designed to feed children's creativity and enhance critical-thinking skills. Visitors venture to Dr. Dig's Back-Porch to learn about artifacts and fossils, stage dramas in a miniature theater with hand puppets, or head to the Faces Multicultural Room to play musical instruments and play dress-up with garments from around the world. They can also wheel pintsize shopping carts through a replica of Boca Raton's first grocery store, where orange juice was invented, or chart a course across the lawn's grasses aboard an outdoor pirate-ship fort. The museum has recently added a gift and snack shop, and also offers classes that teach nonverbal tots to use sign language and summer camps that provide opportunities for play and learning in a group setting.

Customer Reviews

I was there 18 yrs ago when my children were 3 and 9 Now I went with my grandchildren. It's still just as wonderful!

No strollers are allowed inside the museum since it is very small but other than that very nice. My four year old loved it! The craft stations were great!
