When you did fitness alone, you couldn’t figure out the machines, did a wimpy walk on the treadmill, went home, and ate Funyons using a fork made out of beef jerky. Today’s Groupon brings back the buddy system with nine boot camp sessions, access to the gym and group fitness classes for one month, plus a body fat evaluation at Body3 Fitness Center for $30. Redeem for the boot camp at either the Heights or Memorial Park locations.
Reap the benefits of group training. Working out with others motivates you to push yourself harder, helps you stick to a regimen, and gives you the opportunity to bond with new friends over tales of general sweatiness. Your nine sessions will grow into 12 when combined with the free week of boot camp currently being offered at Body3 Fitness, giving you a full four-week course of intense cardio coupled with games and strength. Classes are coached by certified personal trainers, instructors, and coaches, and are offered nightly with special morning sessions on Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. You’ll also get one month of access to the Body3 Fitness Center in the Heights for group fitness classes, including BodyPump, BodyFlow, BodyCombat, and Zumba; a fitness evaluation with body fat testing; and gym access to tone up on your own time.
Being self-motivated is hard work. The tasks you routinely complete are usually executed in response to gentle encouragement from the powers above, such as the IRS, the police, or James Cameron. Applying that approach to the area of exercise will increase your productivity and get you serious results that you can write about in a blog or graphic novel.
The Houston Chronicle praises the bootcamp:
- At his cozy, recently renovated gym near the Heights, Jackobs' [sic] masterminds regimens tailored to his clients' needs. – Houston Chronicle
One Citysearcher gives Body3 five stars:
- No huge crowds, no meat head body builders hogging the machines, and the staff and memebers [sic] are very friendly and helpful. – wkj03, Citysearch
Body3 Fitness Center
The Body3 Fitness Center experience kicks off with a personal fitness assessment and a goal-setting session to discuss your weight-loss or muscle-building dreams. Then, with a custom fitness and nutrition plan in your pocket, it’s time to hit the studio for workouts with certified trainers. Group classes range from boot camps designed by studio founder and former US Marine Tom Jackobs—in which participants use their body weight as a fitness tool—to self-defense sessions and cardio dance classes. For a more intimate workout, athletes can opt for small group sessions capped at four or arrange for one-on-one training.
