The waiter was friendly and explained to us the vegan dishes that we had to choose from. The restaurant is small but we got there early and had the place to ourselves. The food was delicious.

What You'll Get

Leaving one's mouth open to catch raindrops leaves the palate equally susceptible to an encounter with flying naan saucers. Increase your odds of a close encounter of the Indian kind with today's deal: for $10, you get $20 worth of North Indian eats and drinks at Bombay Indian Restaurant on Market Street.

The authentic eatery boasts a lengthy menu of subcontinental fare with classic curries, biryanis, and tandoori specials that have invigorated spice-deprived diners for more than 18 years. Initiate the culinary launch sequence with a bowl of spiced-chicken and lemon mulligawtani ($3.95), or savor the garbanzo-battered flavor of fresh veggies in a crunchy deep-fried shell with hearty bites of the vegetarian pakora ($4.50). Guests can ingest Old MacDonald's recommended intake of cheese and peas by sharing an order of the mattar paneer ($9.95) with a date while trying not to stare at a neighboring table's order of chicken tikka kebab, marinated boneless chicken chunks and fresh vegetables barbecued to perfection ($13.95). In addition to a variety of sea- and land-based meat eats, an extensive selection of vegetarian fare will please herbivores and herbivoyeurs alike.

Warm-toned walls, low-hanging romantic lighting, evocative Indian artwork enclosed in domed frames, and gold accouterments create a cozy eating environment ripe for picking juicy conversation buds. Reservations are required, so call ahead to adopt one of the many affectionate and adorable tables.

About Bombay Indian Restaurant

Since 1992, Bombay Indian Restaurant's chefs have been perfecting their menu of traditional Indian cuisine, with their efforts earning the eatery the title of Best San Francisco County Indian Restaurant from Best of the Bay in 2009. Wafts of simmering garam masala and curry fill the air, heralding the arrival of spice-laden chicken, seafood, lamb, and vegetable dishes. An intimate seating area—with mural-filled alcoves, intricate woodwork, and candlelit tables—entices diners to eat in, and the catering and delivery services ferry meals to the front doors of homes or 12-story couch forts.
