Bonde Bistro's bistro fare gets an assist from Scandinavia and Paris. The concept combines the Parisian bistro with "Bonde," the Scandinavian word for "farmer." Elements of both are well-represented, but the execution is as American as a baseball made of apple pie. The centerpiece of the food is the live-fire cooking approach, which yields hearty wood-fired dishes with global touches. Examples include St. Louis-style ribs with miso rub, and duck breast with Walnut pappardelle and demi. Meats make up the majority of the menu, but there are also numerous seafood and vegetarian dishes, including sauteed arctic char and Minnesota mushroom risotto. For dessert, chefs turn out a caramelized pear with rum raisin reduction.
