What You'll Get
If you saw last year’s Oscar-winning Birdman, you’ve already caught glimpses of Raymond Carver’s brilliant What We Talk About When We Talk About Love, the play-within-the-film that served as the thematic backdrop to the movie’s rumination on life, love and caped-crusader-fueled existential crises. For this evening of Carver’s most memorable tales at Center Theatre, Jane Jones’ theatrical adaptation of the one-time Port Angeles resident’s What We Talk About When We Talk About Love is paired with his short (and shorter-titled) works Cathedral, Intimacy and The Student’s Wife – each of which depicts ordinary people in “dirty realism” as they contend with life the best way they can.
