Q&A with Kristopher Stone, Director

What special training do you or your staff have?
We have extensive backgrounds in plant science, since we are afterall an Arboretum (a living museum for plants). Our knowledgeable staff offer expert information on any plant-related questions that visitors may have to the Arboretum. In addition, several of our employees are ISA Certified Arborists and can provide excellent pruning tips.

I'm a first-timer. How do you get me ready for the experience?
Our property is 121 acres, with over two miles of paved trails and around [a quarter]-mile of non paved woodland hiking trails. Because of this, people often do not plan out how long it will take to see everything, or do not come prepared with refreshments packed. Comfortable walking shoes are a must, and plant for at least two hours, if not more, to see everything.
