One of history's greatest debate-beginners and deal-breakers has been the argument of what came first—the chicken or the sauerkraut pizza. Continue the culinary controversy with today's Groupon: for $10, you get $20 worth of pizza, chicken, and drinks at Boss' Pizza and Chicken. This Groupon is valid for redemption at Boss' Pizza and Chicken's locations on S. Minnesota Avenue and W. 26th Street. This Groupon can be used toward Boss' Pizza and Chicken's lunch and dinner buffets, and also for carryout.

Since 2005, Boss' Pizza and Chicken has been beaming down pizza and broasted chicken to a Sioux Falls landscape lacking in locally owned deliverers of both. Boss' toppings-heavy specialty pizzas ($15.50 for medium, $17.50 for large, $19.50 for extra large) have been known to leave pizza-shaped craters in the earth if they are dropped before reaching their digestive destinations (some South Dakota scientists attribute the extinction of the dinosaurs to a clumsily handled extra-large Sauerkraut Supreme). The Chicken Queso Crunch rounds up queso sauce, chicken, beef, chips, cheddar, and optional jalapeños for south-of-the-border satisfaction, while the Boss earns its titular stripes with its heap of pepperoni, Canadian bacon, Italian sausage, beef, onions, mushrooms, black olives, green peppers, tomatoes, and extra cheese. Not one to tsk-tsk tradition, Boss' Pizza and Chicken also serves up a la carte options, allowing customers to bedazzle a cheese pizza ($10 for medium, $11.50 for large, $13 for extra large) with an appetizing array of extra toppings ($1 per topping for medium, $1.50 for large, $2 for extra large).

Partakers preferring poultry to pizza pies can opt for Boss' mixed-meat broasted-chicken dinners, available with two pieces ($7.50), three pieces ($8.50), and four pieces ($9.50)—all of which are accompanied by potato wedges and a choice of coleslaw, potato salad, or beans. Party planners, meanwhile, can order a collection of cooked cluckers by the piece, in sizes ranging from 2 pieces ($3.50 for dark and mixed, $4.50 for white) to 25 pieces ($38 for dark and mixed, $43 for white). Boss' Pizza and Chicken also cooks up a number of pasta dishes, such as spaghetti with meatballs ($8), and appetizers, including gizzards ($6.50) and Buffalo wings ($7.50). Hungry night owls and nocturnal oceanographers can breathe a starlit sigh of relief, as Boss' Pizza and Chicken is open until 3 a.m. Sundays through Wednesdays, and until 4 a.m. Thursdays through Saturdays.

Only one Groupon may be used per carryout order. Only one Groupon may be used toward dine-in parties of four or less, though two Groupons may be used for parties of eight or more.

Reviews

The TripAdvisor rating for the Minnesota Avenue location averages out to three stars:

  • We had a large group so we ordered a couple specialty pizzas, wings and cheese bread so I feel like we had a good sampling of their menu. Everything was delicious and hot... – kmd_83
  • Between three people, on two nights, we had spaghetti, spaghetti and meatballs, fettucine alfredo, cajun chicken alfredo, and garlic cheese bread. The bread was very buttery and garlicky. It was all delicious. – KARtrip
