Mozart's whimsical opera The Magic Flute is one of the most performed operas in the world. This adventure-filled tale of good versus evil and love conquering all comes to life in a semi-staged production guided by acclaimed stage director Mark Streshinsky. Accompanied by the clumsy and comical bird catcher Papageno, brave Prince Tamino (played by up-and-coming tenor Nicholas Phan) sets out on a quest to rescue a princess (soprano Leah Partridge) from an evil sorcerer. But dramatic plot twists and trickery abound as the true villain is revealed. If you've ever been curious about the opera but were a little intimidated, this delightful opera is your perfect introduction to the genre. Sung in German with English dialogue, The Magic Flute comes to New England Conservatory's Jordan Hall.
Running time is two hours and 30 minutes, including intermission. This show is not recommended for children under the age of 10.
