What You'll Get
The Boston Harbor Islands–national-park area spans 1,600 acres of natural features and fun activities that have helped to earn it designation as an official destination of Michelle Obama's Let's Move Outside! Junior Ranger program. However, the cost of riding the ferry to the islands can prevent low-income families from utilizing the park's resources. Boston Harbor Island Alliance improves access to Boston Harbor Islands activities by sponsoring round-trip transportation and island tours for kids in need.
Once inside the Boston Harbor Islands national park, more than 150 free activities await, including trail hiking, kayaking, and historic sites. Children can play a game of antique baseball according to rules from the 1860s, participate in yoga classes overlooking the harbor, or explore portions of the islands' 35 miles of undeveloped ocean shoreline. Boston Harbor Island Alliance would like to help at least 40 children from low-income backgrounds take a trip to the islands to enjoy a ranger-led adventure through some of its activities, but the organization requires donations to fund ferry rides to the island.
Join G-Team and donate $14 to help Boston Harbor Island Alliance sponsor transportation to the Boston Harbor Islands for children from low-income backgrounds. If G-Team members raise $420, Boston Harbor Island Alliance can fund ferry rides for 40 children, who will get a ranger-led island adventure once they arrive. Each additional $14 raised will fund transportation for another child.
