What You'll Get
On the night of April 18, 1775, silversmith Paul Revere rode through the streets of Boston and surrounding communities to warn residents that the British Army was advancing toward Concord. In his new composition, Boston Musica Viva's composer-in-residence, the Emmy Award-nominated Bernard Hoffer, re-creates this landmark moment in American history through the grace and beauty of ballet. Inspired by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's famous poem Paul Revere's Ride, this ballet premiere features talented young dancers from the Northeast Youth Ballet, ranging in age from 7 to 20. BMV will also reprise Sergei Prokoviev's Peter and the Wolf, an enduring 20th-century masterpiece, also with a narrator, at this family concert at Boston University's Tsai Performance Center.
