What You'll Get
Learn to pluck heartstrings with today's side deal: for $30, you get a one-hour guitar or bass lesson from Boulder Guitar Studio, a $60 value. Alternatively, you can opt for two half-hour sessions. Whichever method you choose, local guitar hero Lee Johnson will guide you in the same finer fingerwork that saw the release of two CDs and led him to his recent victory in the Durango Song Expo Song Contest for his pop-country tune "High Heels!"
A guitar instructor since 1995 and a professional strummer since forever, Johnson uses his versatile skill set to teach varying styles to anyone of any skill level. Before starting, students undergo a brief evaluation to determine their current skill level. Johnson will then design a course of action based around individual goals, skills, and preferences. Once you acquire the basics (or already have them), you're invited to bring in your favorite tunes to start learning how to play along. Johnson, a coordinator for Nashville Songwriters Association International, will be glad to help aspiring songwriters polish their writing skills as part of their guitar lesson. Call ahead to schedule.
Lessons are available for musicians aged six and up.

About Boulder Guitar Studio
Longtime award-winning guitarist Lee Johnson brings plenty of experience to his instruction at Boulder Guitar Studio, having played guitar for 30-plus years, having performed nationally for more than two decades, and having taught for more than 15 years. He instructs students during custom lessons on the basic techniques of the guitar, taking into consideration what they want to learn—he suggests they bring in a playlist of songs they would like to be able to play to learn the techniques, fundamentals, and theories at play in those songs.
