Art can portray the world's most complex subjects: the passion of love, the horrors of war, and the despair of fruit waiting to be eaten. Hold a mirror to nature with today’s Groupon: for $35, you get an individual membership (a $35 value) and membership to affiliate group for young professionals Friends with Benefits (a $40 value) at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (a $75 total value).

Housed in a historic brick building, the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art challenges minds and peppers peepers with an ever-rotating roulette wheel of exhibits from local, national, and international artists. An individual membership affords artophiles unlimited entry for 12 months, or the approximate time it takes to have a baby. Peruse the industrial-ceilinged, white-walled galleries alone, with a friend capitalizing on the included guest entry pass (one per visit), or with the guidance of a wisdom-infused curator as part of invitation-only exhibitions. Members revel in additional benefits, such as discounts on museum programs and at the museum store, subscriptions to the events calendar and e-news.

The Friends with Benefits membership, meanwhile, entitles creativity cravers to curator-guided tours, sneak peeks at artists’ private collections, and admission to museum-hosted cocktail parties and docent arm-wrestling tournaments. Each artee also earns a 15% discount on the museum’s upcoming voyage to Aspen, August 12–14, where tourists will explore the city’s art and its best accompanying libations.

It's a small museum with changing exhibits and incredible pieces on display from both local and foreign artists. There is a small gift shop wit... Read More

"Unexpected"
A fun space, with changing exhibits. It's small, but worth dipping into when you're downtown walking around. Would be a great space for a modern party, a book launch, etc.

"Worth a stop"
First, it was only a dollar to go in and it is right next to the Boulder Dushanabe tea house so you are right there to visit. 1 and 1/2 floors had exhibits. Appears fresh, up beat and the upstairs exhibit was about bee hives. They had a bee hive projected on 2 walls so you felt you we... Read More
