The Fine Print

Promotional value expires Sep 14, 2011. Amount paid never expires. Limit 2 per visit. Reservation required; subject to availability. Must be 21 or older. Max of 20 people per tasting. Merchant is solely responsible to purchasers for the care and quality of the advertised goods and services.

In a proper tasting, wine must be held up to the light to gauge its color, tossed on a cat's back to judge its acidity, and sipped through a crazy straw to annoy the host. Become the toast of any tasting with today's Groupon: for $40, you get a private wine tasting for up to 10 people (up to a $100 value) at Boutier Winery in Danielsville.

Boutier Vineyards’ 32 sprawling acres sweeten the air of Danielsville with fruity fragrances and lush lanes full of tomorrow's wines. Up to 10 go-getting gullets can peruse 10 of the winery's samplings, which include chardonnay, cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, viognier, syrah, corot noir, and cynthiana vine varieties. Winner of the Indy International Wine Competition’s 2007 silver medal, the elegance vin rouge 2007 sets tongues wagging with a heady blend of syrah, cabernet sauvignon, and merlot ($16.99). The diva ’licious peach chardonnay knocks the socks and sandals off of unprepared mouths ($26.99). And, the 2007 riesling's honey and green-apple aroma and dry finish lure in tongues for another taste, and accusations of double dipping ($15.99). Should guests choose to adopt a lonely bottle or seven, customized labels are available for an additional fee to personalize gifts, promote business endeavors, or pay tribute to former email addresses.

Reviews

Boutier Winery has been featured in the Athens Banner-Herald and GeorgiaTrend magazine:

  • The judges have spoken, and their choices are finally unveiled. Among the whites, a dark horse emerged as a clear favorite: Boutier Winery’s Chardonnay is the number one or two choice among all three judges, earning comments such as Driscoll’s “richly textured and viscous with ripe peach, apricot and pear. An oaky backdrop at the end of the palate.” – Krista Reese, GeorgiaTrend

Boutier Winery

Boutier Winery's vinifera and French-American grape vines stretch across 32 rolling acres in Georgia's Piedmont region, awaiting artisanal transformation into award-winning varietals. Wine tastings draw visitors into the vineyards for fragrant sips paired with the rich notes of chocolates and gourmet cheeses. Vintner Victor Boutier's prizewinning wines include Geordeaux, a blended bordeaux that won a bronze medal in the 2011 San Francisco International Wine Competition. Other specialties range from corcordance gold medal winning Diva 'Licious, a scrumptious peach brew, to a chardonnay crafted entirely from Georgia-grown grapes.
