What You'll Get
Sandwiches are like birdhouses—on paper, they're easy to make, and they cause much confusion when hurled at the water commissioner in a public forum. Today's Groupon restores the sandwich to its natural habitat, your stomach. For $10, you get $20 worth of sandwiches and other deli fare at Bradley Food and Beverage in Bethesda.
Bradley Food and Beverage does lunch justice, with delicious specialty sandwiches and fresh-made soups and salads. The sandwiches are a highlight, including the customer-favorite Great Smokey ($6.99), built from generous layers of smoked turkey luxuriating beneath smoked Gouda cheese, honey mustard, and veggies. The extensive menu includes 20 other specialty sandwiches (just enough for a gentlemanly team of rugby-union players), including the meaty and tasty Roast Beef Treat ($7.49), which pairs hot roast beef with havarti cheese. Flavors of European bistros please the palate with the fresh mozzarella and tomato sandwich on a French baguette ($5.99). Closer to home, the Arlington ($7.49) marries hot Black Forest ham, cheddar, and Dijon mustard.
Bradley Food also whips up a selection of soups and salads, from $2.49 for a small garden-vegetable or chicken soup to $5.49 for a large matzo-ball soup, just like the idealized versions grandmothers everywhere ideally used to make. A chicken-Caesar salad goes for $6.99, and a tossed salad ranges from $4.99 meatless up to $9.99 with shrimp. For a heartier meal, try one of the full entrees, like the vegetarian lasagna ($6.99) with fresh spinach, or the home-style meatloaf ($6.99). The market portion of Bradley Food offers an impressive array of wines and beers, including enough microbrews to lower the upturned nose of the snobbiest of beer snobs. The store also shelves unique and hard-to-find items like Vosges chocolate and an impressive array of hot sauces. An attentive and friendly staff makes it easy to find just the right food item to suit your palate.
- …they are one of only a few local places to carry Bergers Cookies-- Baltimore's FINEST cookie. – Catherine H., Yelp
- My favorite is the Great Smokey- it's got a pile of smoked turkey, smoked gouda cheese and a spicy honey mustard. Also a great bet is the roast beef treat- hot roast beef with havarti cheese and horseradish spread. They also have an excellent chicken salad sandwich- it's got lots of goodies in it like chopped celery and onions. – David G., Yelp
