What You'll Get
Today's Groupon offers a pole-based exercise more effective than 1920s pole sitting, more energizing than pole-vaulting, and more sensual than polenta. For $30, you get a one-hour private pole-dancing class at Brass Ovaries Pole Dancing (a $60 value).
Instructed by NASM-certified personal trainers, each private (one to three students) conditioning class at Brass Ovaries welcomes all levels of fitness. Burn calories while toning and sculpting a healthy body as you learn to pirouette, spin, climb, and invert in less time than it takes The Flash to set up a conceptual art installation. Pole dancing combines elements of Pilates, ballet, and striptease (though you won't be de-clothing in class) to strengthen your core and keep you more agile than a motor-powered gazelle.
Brass Ovaries is also offering an optional upgrade with your Groupon: for an additional $20, you can add one to two more friends at the time of your class, although the class cannot exceed five students total. Although many assume lotion, glitter, and heels are obligatory, they actually hinder the workout by not allowing you to mind-meld with your pole—please leave glitter and lotion at home, and do not wear heels exceeding 6 inches.
Call ahead to set up an appointment. Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to reschedule an appointment. Participants under 18 years of age require parental consent.
